Mt. Adams up 6,800', over 5 miles as the crow flies.
We decide to camp here by the stream about 1,900' up the trail.
Pumping three gallons of clear cold glacier water for the night.

Gotcha!
Mount Hood.
Finding our way up 5,000'.
This spot was icy dicey coming back down the next day.
Remember, it is steeper than it looks to the camera as it points up-hill.
Some folks elect to stop here for the night.
We welcomed the snow to smooth our way
The sun was hot at the Lunch Counter for the next three hours.
My bivy camp.
A few folks are heading down late in the afternoon.
The South Face is a steep 2.300' of snow, rock and ice. Note the glissade path!
Happy to rest at the False Summit.
Carboration and hydration at the False Summit.
Very cold and windy day in the jet stream. There was a lull as the photo was taken.

Topping out at the old sulfur mine.
Trusting souls, at 12,000'.
Mazama's, Leader John Hawthorne is second from the left.
Across a small snow field to the true summit.
Jim, Bob and Jeanne pose at the top, in front of Mt. Rainier.
The 2,500' glissade from the False Summit took about 12 minutes!
